Security Enhancements to M2M Communications in Cyber-Physical Systems

报告摘要:

In this talk, I will address the issue of security enhancements to M2M communications in Cyber-Physical Systems. In the cyber-physical systems (CPS), or the Internet of thing, a large group of sensors aredeployed to form the environmental tier, which is one of the three portions of the entire CPS system. The most important issue in the environmental tier is the way of the communications among large amount of sensors. It has been shown that the machine to machine (M2M) communication without human intervention is the major type of the communications in the CPS. In this talk, I will address the M2M communication in the CPS and further the security issues in the M2M communications. As a piece of our recent research work, I will present a novel design of the authentication protocol for the M2M communication to show the enhancement to the security functionality of the M2M communication in the CPS. A real-world scenario will be explained to demonstrate the application of our work on the security of the M2M communicationin the CPS.

报告人简介:

马懋德教授,1982年本科毕业于清华大学,1991年在天津大学获得硕士学位,1999年在香港科技大学获得博士学位。目前在新加坡南洋理工大学电子与电气工程学院任教。马教授的研究方向是无线网络以及网络安全。有250多篇高水平学术论文发表在国际著名学术期刊和IEEE重要会议上,这其中包括100余篇发表在国际著名学术期刊上的高水平学术论文和140篇发表在重要国际学术会议上的学术论文。马教授并被邀请成为多个知名国际学术刊物的主编,高级编辑,编辑或特邀编辑。同时马教授是IET会员和IEEE通信学会与教育学会的高级会员,同时是IEEE 教育学会新加坡分会的主席。
